Sunshine on my shoulder makes me happy

I’m sitting here marking time and waiting for the moment that I can escape into the sunshine. It’s a perfect spring day. There isn’t a cloud in the sky, and brilliant unending blue stretches as far as the eye can see. Even the sunshine itself looks happy just to be in existence. There was rain yesterday, so the pollen count is significantly lower and the air lacks its former yellow tinge. Dogwoods, jasmine, and apple trees are taking over for the Bradford pear and plum trees. I want to find a peaceful mountain cabin on clear, clean lake where I can hide away for the next week I would grill hamburgers, hike through the woods, and might even try my hand at fishing. In the evenings, I’d sit on the screened-in porch and let the night bugs serenade me as I read my favorite book. But things like spring break don’t exist in my working world, so I have to content myself with dreams.
