In like a lion

The snow finally came. I tuned into the news Sunday morning to discover that there was already a thick blanket of snow in LaGrange and that the system was spiraling to the northeast. Hoorah! David came home early from his circus adventures with the Pierces, and I spent the next couple hours waiting and watching for the rain to turn to snow. I was rewarded with large, fluffy flakes somewhere around 2:00. It snowed and snowed and snowed, but the snow refused to stick. I tried to content myself with merely watching the beautiful snow showers, but failed completely. I spent the rest of the night raving about how unfair it was that the city of Atlanta was building snowmen…how unreal it was that Milledgeville had snow on the ground when Cumming didn’t. It was a freak system that covered central and northeast Georgia with 3-6 inches, but managed to miss most of the northwest and north central counties completely. We were just on the edge of the accumulation. I have now resigned myself to our fate, and I’m trying to be happy for the lucky ducks that are still wading through snow. I’m one of a handful of individuals who has made it into the office in Gwinnett, and the GUA parking lot is a winter wonderland. A large portion of the office has already called in for the day…some without power…some with six inches of snow in their yard…

I will not be bitter. I will not be bitter. I will not…be…bitter…

(cry)

In more positive news...it should be pleasant and in the mid-seventies just in time for my daughter's birthday party on Saturday. How odd.
