Eeple oople ehk

I just read an article on a missing hiker and almost cried. The individual is a 24-year-old woman who moved to Georgia from Colorado and disappeared on a familiar stretch of trail near Vogel State Park. She was last seen with a 61-year-old man who is now being detained after trying to use the girl's credit card. Bloody clothes and part of a seatbelt were found in a garbage can at the same convenience store. The man had tried to wash and vacuum part of his vehicle and...shock...part of the back seat belt was missing. The girl is believed to be dead. Perhaps it is the familiarity of the area that makes my stomach turn. The search is primarily taking place around the base of Blood Mountain, which I have vivid memories of. Perhaps it is because one of my best friends spent time hiking the trail this summer. Perhaps it is because the victim is so close to my own age. At any rate, the thought of the case makes me sick, angry, and empty feeling.

I hate such dark thoughts so close to bedtime, so I'm trying to ward them off with a chick flick. The Wedding Date is a pretty cute movie. I remember watching it with my two Jessicas a couple years ago. Seeing Debra Messing's hair makes me want to go red again. Seeing the English countryside makes me want to relocate, tuck away in a cottage, and obtain a few sheepdogs. Seeing Dermot Mulroney...
Well. I'm happily married. If I weren't married, I might actually finish that sentence.
